"As a parent, no matter how much pain you're going through, our philosophy on it is we're never going to throw one of our own children under the bus," Bill said.

That was my favorite part of the entire segment - the reaction is priceless.

Yes, we're all bandwagon fans, as your extensive 2 year study, from 23 years ago clearly shows...

The gauges change color based on time of day - blue/white in the day when lighting is good, orange/red at night.

AZ in the NFC East was an artifact of them initially being in Chicago, then St. Louis - it wasn't by design; the realignment in 2002 sought to correct some of these geographic oddities. (Dallas is the outlier because of the strong rivalries with the Giants and Redskins.) As for the AFC South, it's really a catch all

Likely because moving JAX would require Division realignment, while STL, SD or OAK are all in West divisions, so it's just a relocation.

Is it just me or does it seem like Chris Paul was about to say "we're lettin' our dicks hang out"?

At FSU, the technical name of that play is the "Crableg Bootleg"

Based on the TV he's watching the game on, it should be a replay of a game from 1995.

Barry, there's a great breakdown of past NFL suspensions and duration on fivethirtyeight.com by Allison McCann - I think it would benefit the Deadspin readership to have a link to (or breakdown of) her article: http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/nfl-d…

Ballmer is going in the complete opposite direction of Donald Sterling here...it's a bold move, but I think it'll pay off.

You touched on this theme in the closing paragraph, but I think W. Somerset Maugham said it best, and it applies here, "Only a mediocre writer is always at his best". With genius, we expect the best all the time, but you don't become the best without stretching, and failing. And we (collectively) forget that

I work in Consumer Insights (market research, surveys, etc.) and its quite common to reach out to users of your product and have them evaluate new ideas and concepts for innovation. I'd interpret this as Ubisoft respecting the fans and players of AC and valuing your opinions.

This topic, among many other common sports myths, is covered in Scorecasting...definitely worth a read if you're into this kinda thing.

That's a fair point and the fragmentation is an issue, undoubtedly - what I think is going to happen is that a cross-platform chat app will hit a tipping point and become the "go to", whether it's WhatsApp, Line, whatever, and become the defacto standard. BBM made BlackBerry great, but it is constrained to BB only.

I don't see the point for Google - they have Talk, and some good third party apps have already been established (WhatsApp, etc.). The only reason I can see for Google (or anyone else, for that matter) getting involved is for RIM's patent portfolio and the Enterprise email setup.

I doubt it, since Google's primary revenue generation is web-ad based, they'll probably do everything in their power to keep their customers online for as long as possible.

After seeing this post, I'm so glad I have stock ICS on my G-Nex. None of those alternatives look even remotely appealing. I'll take vanilla ICS all day, any day.
