I listened to a YT video recording of the call. Everyone representing Tesla on the call was dropping so many metric tons of BS it was near impossible to keep up with all the false promises they will never be held accountable for. And the “journalists” from the big outlets on the call weren’t doing a thing to call him

I don’t believe in the pipe dream of autonomous cars any more than I believe in fascism or racism.

At least half of Tesla’s lost profits could be recovered simply by eliminating musk from all decision making. Also, doing that would almost immediately cause a 30-50% increase in the stock price.

I have an easy 3 step solution:

Profits down 55%. Solution - cheap cars with less margin!

I just cannot believe how after all of these years people still believe anything Musk has to say when it concerns timelines, and the fact that news outlets are uncritically passing along that this new affordable car is coming out “sooner” is absurd.

Performance wise, these are amazing.  Too bad everything else about them sucks.

This is exactly what people need, lets give the average person even more power and acceleration when they can’t manage to control and altima like a responsible adult

I rented a Model 3 over Christmas 2022, it was terrible, absolutely terrible. The auto pilot was frequently confused about what to do, once giving up when the light turned yellow while we were still in the middle of an intersection and once tried to drive us right into a crash barrier at an exit ramp. The display was

Great. Now it can run me into traffic or a wall even faster.

What’s the point of putting all that data on a screen in the center of the dash? What track driver would take their eyes off the track to look at it during a lap?

A lot of people just prefer watching videos. No one’s saying it’s the best or only option out there, just that it’s a new one.

Surveys / polls.

They’ve invested tens (if not hundreds) of billions of dollars into it, so they NEED to believe that it is about to happen.  It is an official financial example of denial.  Accepting “defeat” would not just mean they were wrong, it would mean some IP/companies are worth much less than they currently trade at.

At what point does the criminal become the person or people unleashing these deeply flawed systems on an unsuspecting public?

There’s blood on your hands, Elmo.

Yeah, that’s a picture from a PREVIOUS time a Tesla on Autopilot killed a motorcyclist, as noted in the caption of the image.

I would love to see the freaks who decry all the Tesla “bad press” here come up with an excuse for this one

While I genuinely feel sorry for the dumbass rube who trusted Tesla’s systems, I still place most of the blame on Tesla itself. Just like I would if Cadillac’s Supercruise did the same thing. So while it’s absolutely horrible for the victim’s family, I hope they get a massive payout or force Tesla to open their books

But here come the robotaxis....
