@Dougiefresh91: Android phones have free tethering as of 2.1, unless disabled by the carrier. I can confirm that USB tethering was allowed on my Hero and Evo, and USB and wifi tethering were allowed on my friend's Nexus One.

@uncle_jojo: I don't like having to look at a map while driving. I tend to forget more than four or five steps ahead.

@junior ghoul: ASUS uses it for support downloads and most Linux distros use it as well.

@Gazoogleheimer: They should make the digital library, and some company should sell printed copies. I imagine someone could throw together a machine for making various different books without having to change plates or re-tool. Best of both worlds?

@squishyalt: It's called replication. Just like we don't have a single copy of each book, data centers that would store something like this would have a high level of replication. [en.wikipedia.org]

@NewSc2: I think it's more for the GPS device, since they aren't perfectly accurate.

@tundraboy: Touch interfaces have been around forever. Old mobile phones had their own carrier-provided app stores. Nothing new, just improved.
