No problem!
No problem!
Watched Black Widow the other weekend and I can confirm, it’s not really worth watching.
ITT: a bunch of people who don’t know how RT works. This means the movie is launching with the lowest pre-release critical reviews vs. total critical reviews of past Marvel movies. WHICH IN TURN MEANS the rating will likely go lower. Because no one cares about this movie and it sounds like it sucks.
Question since I’m curious now. I don’t know much about RT, but I am a very active user on GoodReads and greatly enjoy the experience. I haven’t noticed “review bombing” but it’s very possible I’ve just missed it since I don’t read popular enough books. Do you have any articles/sources for this, or just something you…
I had been cautiously optimistic, but it wasn’t difficult to see what could go wrong. I’ll probably see it eventually, but not until it hits D+.
Now imagine a white person saying that to the black community over racial comments. The hypocrisy is astounding.
Isn’t that what white people like to say, though, to the black community? “We need to have a conversation. We are going to listen to you” about cops killing black folks, systemic racism, etc.
“It’s about corporate interests, and what I can say, and what I cannot say.”
I have some conditions: first of all, you cannot come if you have not watched my special from beginning to end. You must come to a place of my choosing and time of my choosing. And thirdly, you must admit that Hannah Gadsby is not funny.
“It seems like I’m the only one who can’t go to the office.”
The last thing the employees of Netflix need is a lecture from Chappelle explaining why his offensive comments were fine.
“It seems like I’m the only one who can’t go to the office.”
Oh honey, no.
The way a normal person would read what I said is “Black comedians don’t get nearly the opportunities they should. Maybe we could give his airtime to one of them instead.”
He doesn’t deserve another chance. This is an intelligent human being who has chosen to pander to the laziest bullshit to generate buzz.
I don’t know what it is, I’m really not someone who’s passionate about social issues, but reading what people like Rowling and Chappelle say about Trans people makes me sick to my stomach.
They can’t cut the offensive material because then the special would be 10 minutes long.
This is just how people are trained to talk - it’s unlikely Ted wrote any of what he said.
Chappelle’s entire thesis has already been proven wrong. He says (and the bigots here say) that if you criticize queer people, you get canceled. No. If you criticize queer people, you get a microphone, thousands of audience members, a paycheck of $24 million dollars, a special on a major streaming platform, and…
First and foremost, I should have led with a lot more humanity.
Yeah no shit. Flat out telling a marginalized group that he believes something isn’t offensive while having no overlap with said group isn’t a great look. Its like a white person telling a black person something isn’t racist. If this was race related instead of gender related, Chapelle would be the one fighting with…
