It is remarkable how many Jalopnik readers do not know what a sports car is. At least half the responders to this thread are identifying two-door sedans as sports cars. Sports cars have two seats (or one bench seat) and 2 or less doors.

    Asian women of any generation.

Sinister Diesel is a jerk but this is a slippery slope. There are legitimate diesel truck competitions and pulls so there is a big grey area. DOJ says Sinister should have policed its customers because it knew many of them were illegally driving their Sinister tuned trucks on public roads. I don’t think federal law

The data are flawed. Cops always check the “high rate of speed” box for any highway wreck no matter the real cause.

I smell a new law against this.  The kid bought and paid for a ticket from FL to NY and his getting off in NC saved the airlines a few cents in fuel by making the plane a 100 lbs. lighter.  There is no economic harm.

We used to call these things “Q Ships” (tactical deceptions). My memory of the Porsche Turbo 930 (not a Q Ship) I drove for short time is mostly bad and this thing would likely leave the same memories: dull below about 120 MPH and horribly frustrating at 75 MPH and below. A nice sedan, like a S Mercedes is much more

I have never seen a Tesla truck or a test of one in the auto press. Every test of the Lightning basically comes to the dame conclusion:  the Lightning cannot do truck things.

EV’s are not a useful product in a world of PHEV’s that can do a daily urban cycle on battery power.

Isn’t gas already $7 in California?

So, the driver’s seat will not adjust up for “short torsoed persons” like Chinese, Japanese and Indian billionaires.

Saab 96 or Citroen 2CV....can’t make up my mind.

The EX and Land Cruiser have a fatal flaw the makes them toys, not serious “over land” vehicles: poor fuel economy small fuel tanks. This article makes no mention of these for 2024. For 2023 the mileage is 17 if you are lucky and the tank only holds 22 gallons. Carrying fuel cans inside stinks and is very dangerous. Th

Dieselgate?  That was a bit of genius that benefited owners and infuriated Saint Greta.

Residents who set up junk yards in residential neighborhoods should be run out of town.

The proble with F1 is all the cars are the same and the problem with Monaco is there is no place to pass. I do not see how a two-car race will solve those problems. I too like qualifications more than races for the same reasons I like WRC and Pikes Peak: they are driver-car-course without the antics. I do watch NASCAR

Interesting. The Henry Ford Manufacturing System...”You can have whatever you want as long as it is what we are making”.

Yuck...this isn’t the car for a punk twin turbo V8. A 150-200HP, 3L inline 6 is correct. But, better (& very slow!) would be to resurrect the old Mercedes 5 cyl, 3L diesel...all mechanical, no electronics of any kind.

It is no longer mid-size if it uses Tundra/Sequoia architecture.  It needs a 2.5L, L4 turbo engine not hybrid.

Was 1957 the last of the more-or-less stock “stock” cars?

Money is often not the real problem, it is trouble getting necessary OEM parts from the manufacturer. Years ago I remember a friend waiting 6 months for a few necessary Ferrari Dino engine parts for a rather easy and not too expensive repair...something like a water pump or alternator.
