It’s the Prisoner’s Dilemma, isn’t it? If they all voted no...but they will never do that.

I’m pretty sure given the years spent as a POW, we’d be picking up the tab for his health care no matter what.

The spouse and I were at a baseball game and I was super looking forward to Oreo dippin dots but he got some cotton candy which I did not want. I can’t at a whole thing of dip n dots by myself without some issues. Then an employee came by selling tiny ice cream sandwiches for $1. This was the best thing that happened

HEAVENLY HASH YOU MONSTER!

How expensive can some of these dresses be? If you’re out a few hundred bucks and some time, that sucks but it’s not a disaster. The groom fucking the maid of honor... now THAT would be a disaster.

Some people suffer a trauma and think “I don’t want anyone else to feel this way.”

You are not... the first person. As soon as I read Mayo Clinic I thought - isn’t that nice, McCain gets the top line treatment while his constituents can get fucked, especially women.

I can’t be the only person who immediately thought of the Cadillac Escalade with Leather Seats and Turbo version of healthcare that the members of congress receive, and the way it allowed Mc Cain to get his surgery at the Mayo Clinic, which is in Minnesota, neither DC nor Arizona, to get McCain all shipshape to vote

I agree. Also, there are different forms of bribery and, I have long suspected, the threat of blackmail material of some kind being released if they don’t obey. They are basically all dirty politicians, so even those with no private vices probably have reason to fear certain truths being broadcast.

Well you see, he was starved and tortured by people funded and trained by Russia and Republicans have long been stridently anti-Russia and so he has to stick by his party because they’re against the things he’s against.

Here’s the reason:

Yes, many of these fine GOP public servants are using the situation to troll for bribes in one form or another. Might be a bridge to nowhere (hey, it worked before for another member of the same Alaskan political family) or a window-dressing pittance fund they can use to lie to their voters about caring so much for

Arizona has a Republican governor. He’d appoint a Republican replacement, who would hold office until the next special election.

Senator McCain is no hero. I like guys who don’t get blood clots.

Hey! *hugs* Above everything else, I want you to know that you have not wrecked your life. When you look back in a few years, this will seem like a shitty, awful detour you took—but in no way does it define who you are as a person.

some families just seem cursed—it’s weird.

C’mon, man. Did you really have to misery-one-upsmanship this article? Do you walk into funerals and ask “You think this is bad? My parents, siblings, and cats all died in a house fire.”

I’m so sorry. I just found out my dog has cancer and has less than a year left. It’s hard knowing the inevitable but at least you have this time together.

I’m so very sorry to hear this. The best to you and your beloved pup during this tough time. I hope you still have some good days together.

OT, but would you guys mind covering Maryam Mirzakhani’s death? She was the first woman to win the Fields Medal (which Jez covered 3 years ago), basically the highest honor in math, and died at 40 of cancer today.
