It’s easy to demonize the neighbors as petty or whiny, but maybe people are getting tired of the wealthy not following the rules that they were taught to follow?

Guy spent $100,000 on a vanity project for his kid and purposely avoided the government because he didn’t feel like he should pay the government a few hundred

I mean, we know who’s in the wrong. Like it or not, the dad didn’t figure out if one was necessary and/or didn’t apply for a permit. Unsurprisingly, most villages/towns/cities don’t want you to install paved race tracks in your back yard. So they require you to get a permit. He didn’t do it, and built it anyway. Would

Until 1983, my school system had a mix of bus drivers. One group was composed of elderly men who didn’t take flack from anybody-including the students or the parents. The second group were school teachers and coaches looking for extra money to go along with their teacher’s salary. Imagine the algebra teacher as your

Same, my driver would drop us off at my friend’s house since we were typically among the last stops. If my friend wasn’t there, she would drop me off at my house lol. One of the drivers we had for a field trip even stopped at Wendy’s for us, we were the only ones that got some food that day lol, fun times.

Texas is more than happy to let kids die of heat on the football practice fields, why would riding the bus be any different?

RIP George Carlin on places like Texas:

The next bit, however, is confusing: The bus driver took 30 minutes to go three miles—a drive that normally takes six minutes, according to NBC. The district says the driver was going slower on the dirt road...

Don’t worry, the Legislature will swoop in and cut more school funding. That will solve the problem.

If we were little shits when growing up the last thing our driver would do is go slow, the sooner rid of us the better, after one time of the bus going back to the school us kids listened, the trouble makers parents got extra pissed having to come get them from the principal and the rest of us got pissed that we spent

Those emergency roof hatches aren’t going to do jack if you’re going 6 mph and I further doubt their effectiveness on a near 100-degree day if the rest of the windows are closed. I used to own a school bus and that thing was a gosh-darned death box unless every single window was open.

I dunno, Texas... If you care about those kids, maybe you should mandate AC in school buses? In one of the hottest areas of the country? Maybe that’s a good idea?

Spending more time on a bus with kids on a hot as hell day seems more like punishment for the driver than the kids, are we sure they don’t have some sort of superweird masochism fetish here?

It would be real easy to figure out if the road was so bad that they had to drive that slow. It would be even easier to just ask the kids how they drove that road when they were picked up in the morning.

as god intended.

Our bus driver would just pull over if we got too rowdy and wait for us to settle down. She always had the windows down on hot days though and drove the living hell out of that bus lol. Still remember her name, Wendy, had her from elementary all the way through Highschool graduation, she was good bus driver.

Driver goes 30mph on dirt road, hits pothole, kid falls off seat —> parents sue

This was standard bus driver behavior when I was in school. Some thing, podunk location, dirt roads even. You had to have permission to put the windows down, and they’d deny as punishment. Our district had private contractor drivers who had their own buses. One old woman never shut off coolant flow to the rear heater

Driving a bus full of kids with no AC going 6mph is just punishing the driver. No sane person would do that to themselves.

You gotta be drunk to put with all those kids. Like my bus drivers back in the day.

I have been in the classroom for over 25 years and I would never drive a school bus. I am shocked more of them do not loose it every now and then. The kids parents probably have trained the kids to treat the bus drivers like crap or like a servant.
