I love Gilligan's style, but I think you underestimate how often he has utilized "on-the-nose." He certainly goes the subtle & surprising route quite often, but BB was full of on-the-nose moments.

Sure, there are plenty of brilliant people among them, but it's far, far, far more likely that the Ivy League-types are going to be DEFENDING class actions, not the other way around.

I don't find that statement to be automatically accurate. In reality, the vast majority of firms that specialize in class action are full of Jimmys, not Chucks. The plaintiffs' class action bar is filled with attorneys who are hated by the corporate-scum lawyers to which your refer.
