Agreed that the Eagles played a weak schedule, but the question now is, can the Eagles beat the Saints at home and Carolina on the road? In my opinion, the answers are "hell yes" for the Saints and "they've got a decent shot" for Carolina.

Followed by the New Year's Eve Wrap-Up Show, in which Stern's flunkies would talk about all the crap they just talked about on the pay per view.

I even saw a promo for the return of Community on the football game last night, which was almost as exciting as seeing the Cowboys finish yet another year with a season-ending interception!

That's not fair. That's not fair at all.

Clark ran that Pyramid like a military operation, that's for sure. It was never the same without him.

As usual, I'll be spending my New Year's Eve with a dead guy - Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy.

I'm not cocksure about it, but I like the path the Eagles appear to have to the NFC championship game - I'm very confident in their chances to beat the Saints or Cardinals at home, and a road win at Carolina seems very possible.

Yes, Jerry did make a wagering mistake on the last DD. He should have bet $4,800 or $4,801, which would have created at worst a potential forced tie situation or put the game out of reach for Avram with a correct response, and still would have allowed Jerry to keep the lead into FJ if he missed the DD.

If this is truly the end of Getting On, it will join Party Down and Enlightened in the highest quality-to-ratings ratio Hall of Fame. By all means, do the marathon.

Eagles vs. Cowboys: "The winner takes the NFC East title and heads into the playoffs to face off against the Seahawks, 49ers, Cardinals, Saints, or Panthers, depending on what craziness unfolds today. Honestly, do either of these teams want to face any of those?"

Jeopardy! thread for Fri., Dec. 27 - Champ Jerry proved that his impressive victory on Thursday was no fluke with another runaway win. As before, he established command immediately and steadily moved away during DJ, despite a good effort from Avram. Jerry took an even $25K into this Final:

Agreed, although I have the feeling that if he'd just said the racial stuff without the homophobic stuff, he would have gotten very little open support. For some bizarre reason, people were so eager to stick up for his right to be a homophobe that they just let the racial stuff slide.

I know that way back in the day, A&E showed stuff such as imported British mysteries and their flagship show for a while was Biography, so it tried at one point to be known for programming of redeeming value.

Unfortunately, the country still hasn't completely caught up with the idea that his homophobic comments are just as fundamentally bigoted as his racial statements. But we're getting there, as evidenced by the progress being made in the area of marriage equality.

True, there were religious aspects to those comments, but my impression is that the racial stuff isn't going to be as readily defended as an "expression of faith" as the homophobic statements.

The homophobic comments might seem like more of story because it touches on the misguided idea that publicly stating one's homophobia should somehow be OK because he was "expressing his faith".

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if Duck Dynasty was a marginally-rated show with few devoted fans, those statements would have resulted in immediate cancellation. So yeah, money and public pressure had *everything* to do with it.

I'm sure you're bringing in millions and millions of dollars for your employer and have an army of supporters to protest any action they might take against you, so sure, give it a shot!

It seems like, to me, any other channel would be more desirable than A&E. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there!
