In my opinion, “piracy” is worse/t when it deprives the creator of income or credit that they are otherwise due. If I pirated the new Legion expansion, for example, I’ve effectively deprived Blizzard of the money that I should have paid them.

Here, while technically “piracy,” it is not stealing any income from

By the Light of the Seven!

It looks like it’s iOS only; I don’t see the new tracking feature text on the Google Play Store.

Pokemon GO is great, fun to play, etc., but its several problems (including the vague tracking system) were frustrating. I’m glad Niantic is experimenting with different solutions.

If you have a lootcrate subscription (or know someone who does), the August shipment comes with a free copy of WoW+all expansions, excluding Legion, and 30 day subscription.

In an industry where there’s animosity between players and developers, CDPR really came off as a studio that actually wanted to release a great game versus increasing their profit margins, and that paid off for them. They didn’t even do anything that amazing, but built up a tremendous amount of goodwill by releasing

pls release on steam ty

MK, no contest. I remember watching MK in the theaters in junior high and watching Sub-Zero and Scorpion walk through the boat doors for the first time was pretty much the coolest thing ever.

Just a note about your “running around with Zidane and crew and their whacky sometimes serious adventures, etc...”

After the gloom and doom protagonists that were Cloud and Squall, Zidane was a breath of fresh air.

The question isn’t whether Blizzard is “winning.” The dispute is over whether WoW, in your words, “tanked.”

“Tanked” usually means something has failed completely at great financial cost. For example, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning “tanked.”

Maybe if you led off with that, instead of “youd be doing the human race a service by dumping your fanatic gf and not allowing her to reproduce and spread that special brand of stupid any further.”

Nope, my “anger” is directed at the people who did this, not at Blizzard.

“rightfully”? Yes, let’s punish the players who had nothing to do with Blizzard’s call to shutdown private servers of their game. There’s nothing “right” about it.

Speaking as a veteran WoW player, I almost envy you. I still play WoW, but my playing is very formulaic and by the books. There’s no sense of wonder, no sense of amazement at the world. It’s all a means to an end, and I’m slightly saddened by that.

I started playing WoW shortly after release (got a Vanilla CE to prove it!), and I thought hunters were the worst soloing class because I never learned how to turn Growl on. By the time I was level 15, I was tired of meleeing mobs, so I deleted him. :(

Especially when the UI was designed for 800x600 resolution and hasn’t/doesn’t scale appropriately.. I hate squinting to read single-spaced quest text.

Hah. Yuichi was my college roommate!

Kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't type thing. Would it be better if Blizzard looked at a fan-made mod and said "Wow, that mod is popular! We're going to take it for ourselves and make money off it."?
