Exactly- the Pontiac Vibe pretty much costs exactly the same as a Matrix, the Tribute as much as an Escape of that generation...Unless the 124 has powertrain issues(ok a total possibility) I don’t think there is going to be a huge if any price differences between the 124 and the MX-5

No the Dart has the Abarth’s engine to be fair. the 1.4l was designed for the Abarth first (size wise had to get it to fit in that tiny car). Than it was moved over to the Dart. Now the Dart really only comes with the 2.0l or the 2.4l unless you can find an Aero Dart that has an anemic version of the 1.4lT...now you…

The 1.4 MultiAir Turbo has been around for nearly 7 years. Many a 500 Abarth owner and countless European platforms have been tuning this engine. I wouldnt write it off just yet, especially since its mated to the previous generation Miata gearbox (the new one is supposedly the weak link for the ND).

Every car made in the past 50 years has more powerful brakes than engine, so you can always stop against engine power if you do it right. The only thing that can really get in the way is fade: if you slowly apply the brakes to counter the engine instead of really go for it quickly, you may overheat them and lose power.
