My personal pick is Robbie Fulks. Long career, so there’s an example of bascially every different country music style somewhere along the line. Some of it sincere, some of it tongue-in-cheek. But his latest records seem to have settled into a very comfortable style all his own. Familiar, but recognizable as new.
