I recently checked The Dark Knight Returns, being praised as the definitive Batman comic by many readers, but I found it silly and underwhelming. Frank Miller's era was certainly the 80s and even though some of his ideas were pretty interesting (catatonic Joker, government agent Sup) others were just teenager stuff

Looks like watchmen 2

Now we get the second best female director they considered (possibly third if someone didn't even accept the project)

Stuff that worked
- Roy's arc
- Roy's prison fight
- Deathbolt as a threat

It's odd how every angle in the police station always seems taken from below. As if there's a dwarf cameraman.

I don't know if Becca really got Cabin in the Woods, as it was a meta movie about disliking horror films, so I guess you got that part right. She was one of the angry gods who'll destroy the Earth because the movie didn't give her the same schlock (it kinda did, but then it didn't).

Leave Eric Roberts alone, the man is an institution.

The big bearded guy in the bathroom was one of the wanted posters at the beginning. All those small details

I'm sorry, but I don't love CSI. It's the dumbest, most unscientific procedural I've ever seen. They can't even turn on the lights on their laboratory because they think it looks cool, the killer might be hiding there!

I don't see where you got "derisive" from my comments. I was just pointing out how it's about rehashing.

The horror genre died in 1992. Del Toro has come the closest to revive it, but his movies are actually dark fables. Babadook, conjuring, occulus, etc, were all recommended as great horror films and they are truly bad and they are all in the idea of demon child/haunted house brand.

I hope this brings more attention to his brilliant horror meta film "Detention" (it's on Netflix)

Fish Mooney is with the reanimator! Oh the possibilities!

Eddie Redmayne is a quadriplegic talking through a computer, half of the movie he is literally doing nothing. The rest was fine, but I hate how the academy always favors disabled characters, well noted by RDJ in tropic thunder
