Didn't TheFu (PBTH). tip this months ago?

Needless should = lossless

There's probably no loss of quality at monitor size viewing or indeed printing at 8x11 but if you were to try to print poster size prints you would see the difference. So, needless for ordinary uses - no discernible loss of quality.

I heard on good authority that Netflix were going to manage the US version of the BBC iPlayer which for me at least would be good news.

Also, don't forget, those of you using Alt-tab, or Win-tab that if you press the control key at the same time you can take your fingers off the keys and still perform the maneuver with just the tab or L/R arrow keys. Not my find - someone posted it the other day, I can't remember who.

The last segment of a video's youtube address provides a nice random string, just add a punctuation symbol. Upload a short video of your computer and use it to both provide and store the password.

"IE looks like Chrome and Firefox had a baby."

"(for now) a social network". For now an email address. That's just how gmail started, just an email address and now look what it is. Same with Google plus - I'll give it 18 months before it's true colors show.

As usual with Google there's probably more to this than meets the eye; as with gmail and goog411 google give their stuff away for free for a reason. Methinks the real name requirement is because down the road they'll be muscling in to some field where this is necessary or at least tying G+ in with Checkout and

It's in the View tab

Well speaking personally I can't wait till they introduce the ribbon into Internet Explorer 10 - it will fit in just nicely with a couple or three third party toolbars.

There will be two or three (can't remember) more lines screen real estate with this than with the W7 explorer.

The invert selection will very soon prove its worth.

When you use IETab you're using IE or at least the SHDocVw library so it's probably the fault of the settings in the IE you're tring to use.

On my system IE9 looks as far removed as possible from Chrome as could ever be - I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Microsoft has tried to make the interface look more like Chrome ". As for buttons and tabs looking like firefox - how else is a button supposed to look, and in any case aren't FF buttons rectangular?

A Windows free home eh? Can't think what that must do to your ability to see what's going on around you.

Try the definitive guide to life without Bonjour

Oh yes - Bonjour. This single app is responsible for so many problems with Windows, and I'm not just blaming Apple for Windows' problems. Bonjour is the answer, no matter what is the question.

Agreed although my initial comment was meant for IE9 detractors.
