Amazing piece of writing, and I learned the word Falstaffian and just a lot of 90's history I was too young to be cognizant of. I really wish Marc Maron wasn't the sycophant of Lorne Michaels and addressed the issues of racism, conservative politics and hateful comedy that SNL supports.

Listen to nearly any female-fronted indie rock band that is covered by Pitchfork/Stereogum/AV Club/ConsequenceofSound/etc, and you will find that there sound is far more reminiscent of Kim Deal's work than it does Frank Black.
