Or are they devoted because there has been nothing to compete with the Wrangler? I think a lot of people will want something to differentiate themselves from all the billions of wranglers floating around these days.

It would be interesting to see how much market research has gone into whether or not buyers actually exist anymore. It may not be so much that people are turning away from Harley, as it is that people are turning away from motorcycles and Harley is just taking the biggest hit.

Re: Hardley Ableson:

In 1989 I brought a Micro Machine Blue Angels F-18 for Show & Tell in Kindergarten. It was stolen from my locker and the culprit was caught the same day, because he was 5. I transferred schools after a few weeks and never saw the guy again, until we ran into each other in a college bar. He turned the story around that

I’m an older guy. I drove a WRX. “Drive something age-appropriate!” they said. “Aren’t you a little old for a ‘boy racer’?” they said.

I quit reading the instant you compared the share price of one company to another, as if that has any bearing whatsoever on the value of a company or its future.

“Hi, I owe 27k on my car, and that’s too expensive! I’d like to buy a car for $28k to lower my payment.”

I have said it before and I will say it again:

1. TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FUCKING THOUSAND MILES.

Everybody makes fun of LS swaps, but at the end of the day the reason those of us who’ve swapped all makes love the LS.... Really it boils down to how much RELIABLE horsepower you can make for not much money.

The LS engines are the antithesis to DOHC. There is simply no compelling argument in favor of DOHC over an LS engine.

Hey, a real article about car stuff? What gives?
I came to Jalopnik looking for politics and celebrity drama!

It amazes me how so many transit vehicle makers can’t seem to build good vehicles.

Swapping one of these into a pristine 5.0 fox-body and showing up at a classic mustang meet would be deeply enjoyable.
