Totally agree on all fronts.

Completely agree. TfA was such a disappointment to me. Also, how does a planet swallow a sun? The mass differential is exponential. How does a light beam travel father than light, then split into 5 at the last moment? Why are there 5 planets on the same side of the sun in spitting distance of each other?

It’s actually worse now than it was in the time of the Prequels. In TFA, we’re starting with absolutely no idea what has happened in the intervening years and nothing in the movie properly explains it. Luke Skywalker is missing... why? Oh, his nephew murdered all his Jedi... but that still doesn’t explain why Luke is

No, it is just more evidence that all the training in the world does not prepare you for real life situations despite what certain gun nerds think.

Why post names of women with the intent of having internet strangers contact them because you’re (rightfully) upset about their male bosses screw up in a case concerning violence against women? Are you hoping seeing his female staff members harassed will inspire empathy?

As much as I detest both that decision and the result, I do think you’re letting this system off easy by placing the blame on the Judge. This isn’t one Judge going off the sliding scale. It’s the system as a whole not even breaking down. It’s doing exactly what it was designed to do, which was precisely not enough.

Raising bond isn’t really the issue here. Multiple studies have shown that the amount of bond set has no bearing on whether or not a defendant will appear for his next court date. Also, we shouldn’t make it a habit of pricing people out of a constitutional right. There are states that are looking to do away with bond

You seem to be well informed on the subject so I’ll ask you;

“Gained entrance”? He gained entrance the same way everyone who ever sneaked into a movie does because security staff at a theater are there to check no one’s filming on their iPhone and ask people to leave if they’re talking during the movie. And yeah, it’s mostly high school students because it’s a movie theater not

Legally, the theater (or their insurance company) is within it’s rights to sue for costs. What gets people upset is the cost for the theater is incomparable to the cost for the families of the victims. That said, I wonder if the lawyers for the families actually told them this might happen.

People could stop suing the deepest pockets everytime something bad happens.

So if someone came into your house and gunned down a guest, and then the family of your guest sued you for not hiring armed guards for your house, you’d go bankrupt rather than do anything to defend yourself? You’d accept the loss of all your money, your home, a good chunk of your prospects for retirement because

They should have thought about it before filing a frivolous lawsuit.

But it was totally ok to file a groundless lawsuit?

They’re not demanding the victim’s families pay the legal cost. They’re demanding the people who initiated an unreasonable lawsuit against them pay the cost of that lawsuit.

Hmm, maybe they shouldn’t have jumped onto a lawsuit almost certainly helmed by Saul Goodman?

So they make money and therefore it’s okay to sue them for something they’re not responsible for, threaten to appeal and keep suing them when your case gets dismissed, and expect them to shoulder all the legal fees?

Doesn’t this figure represent the cost to the theater of those families pursuing legal action against them even though they did nothing wrong? I feel like I’m mostly OK with this, depending on how aggressively they seek payment. Anyone who jumped on board trying to get a payout or place blame on what amounts to an

I can understand the thinking, but if it’s a staggering amount of money, then it’s pretty unreasonable for the theater to bear the entire cost of it, isn’t it? They didn’t do anything wrong and they’re out nearly three-quarters of a million dollars.

@Sheed's Bald Spot: I was in the crowd for this. Wonderland Ballroom, Revere, MA. ECW came through there all the time and I didnt' miss many of them. This was one of the most amazing spectacles I've ever witnesses. You had to see the look on that kid's face before the Gangstas came out. He was trying to put on
