The key is good alternatives. When I visited Japan for work everyone commuted by train. Not only was it cheaper but it was also by far the fastest way to get around town. Trains came through the station every couple of minutes.

The difference between a Tesla and a chainsaw is that the CEOs of chainsaw manufacturers don’t go on TV and demonstrate the product can do things that the company’s fine print says not to do. (60 minutes) They also don’t respond to videos of people misusing the product with positive comments. (Musk’s response to a

Car magazines had the same rant when Mercedes announced that all AMGs going forward would be AWD. Mercedes’ logic was very clear. When an AMG vehicle is offered with AWD 90% or more buyers purchase AWD. There is no point in offering RWD for a small subset of buyers.

It looks like a RAV4 because Toyota sold 994,000 RAV4s in 2020.

I’m not against autonomous driving. As you said, it doesn’t take much to be better than a human. I’m against allowing people to not pay attention until we get to Level 4 were they don’t need to pay attention. With Level 1 and 2 autonomous system it should be VERY clear that the driver must pay attention at all times

Yes, BLM as in the Bureau of Land Management. When the media started using BLM for Black Lives Matter I was really confused for a bit.

I prefer the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge (WA 14).

Not even that for me. For my wife and I it would come out to about $13 a year.

Nobody that reads company quarterly reports expects Harley to go out of business.

Washington is not banning ICE vehicles in 2030. Washington voted to:

Your Kennewick neighbors don’t need to give up their HD trucks. In fact they are pretty much the textbook case for pairing one vehicle with another. Use the HD truck for trips, towing, and hauling paired with an EV for commuting and runs to the grocery store.

A new car is not $40K. Yes, you will read articles that say the “average” new car is $40K but that is the mean not the median and is skewed higher by a relatively small number of very expansive vehicles. The mean family income in the USA was $116,735 in 2019. The median household income was $68,703.

Not odd at all.   Lindsey Graham knows how the game works.    He also knows that foreign aid is much cheaper than military interventions in foreign countries.

I took a look at gas prices today at gasbuddy and compared gas prices on the Washington side of the river vs the Oregon side. After subtracting out the taxes gas is 3 cents more per gallon in Oregon.

You didn’t answer my question. Who told you the COVID bill had $10 million for gender studies in Pakistan? How did that become a talking point in conservative circles?

That really depends on if you are urban or rural. At urban stations with lots of pumps - yes, you spend time waiting on an attendant. At rural stations were there may only be one pump - you can spend a LOT of time waiting for people to do their shopping and catch up on the local gossip.

That density is based on the city proper not the urban area or metro.

Generally when people talk about one plant making up a huge portion of pollution they are specifically talking about SOx.

People said the same thing about hybrid batteries.   20 years later most hybrids still have the original battery.

An excellent example of backwards “all or nothing” thinking.
