I’m guessing they are moving the Transit to Mexico because it will share a platform with the Bronco Sport and Maverick. It also means they will avoid the Chicken Tax on cargo versions.

Actually this is a Texas specific problem. The Texas power gird failed primarily for two reasons - both preventable.

Hot shot drivers make money by always being in motion. Having a 3500 gives someone the option for heavier loads but doesn’t mean they are always running heavy loads. They aren’t going to sit in one place waiting for a heavy load if there are light loads to be moved and make them money. They aren’t going to run empty if…

You could but their target market is in manufacturing. Hard to use a lift on a moving assembly line.

Yes, an automaker makes money selling service parts to dealers - they make money selling parts to independent shops too. The idea that automakers design cars to be hard to service so people will take their car to a dealer for service is crazy.

Dealers are not owned by manufacturers - except for Tesla.

They all use the same 125cc engine (at least they did until this update to give the Grom a 5 speed)

The biggest issue with battery swaps is that for it to be a realistic option all automakers would need to agree on a standard battery to use.

It doesn’t matter to me because it is 2021 and I don’t buy motorcycles without ABS anymore. I’ve ridden long enough to know that computers can modulate brakes faster than I can and I’m OK with admitting it.

Standard ABS for the Cub and Trail is a US Honda decision. You can get the Cub without ABS in other countries.

No one has come up with a better HVAC interface than 3 knobs.  One for temp, one for fan speed, one for vent selection.    Simple and easy to use by touch.

$3600 for the Grom ABS vs $3750 for the Cub ABS.   I’d pay the extra $150 for full size wheels instead of 12 inch scooter wheels.

The reminds me of our bus factory in Mexico. The chassis plant is separate from the body builders and the chassis are driven there on public roads. So you have a guy sitting on top of a bare chassis in a temporary chair driving down the highway at 55 mph. (We do make them wear motorcycle helmets)

I really don’t understand the appeal of a road legal pit bike. The Grom doesn’t do anything that the Cub or Trail don’t do better.

They are really the Apple of EVs. Tesla vs CCS follows the same trend as Lightening vs USB-C.
