not sure about item 1, but I think for 2, they were trying to 'take a chance' on a character that was fresh and unique on TV, well at least for CW/WB anyways, with a male protagonist. I think at the time, people were pretty swoony for Jess. But you're right, it's questionable why they would do that for a show that was

I love your username

oh god my heart can't handle that scene

I remember Lauren Graham saying in interviews how people will come up to her with references to the show and she will have zero idea what they're talking about because of the insane amount of dialogue she has memorized while on that show.

I have to say, Madchen Amick was really well cast as Sherry. Lady is GORGEUS and looked damn good with Christopher

I'm excited to read everyone's opinion of the Jess backdoor pilot ep Here Comes the Son when we get there.

I want to read this.

I wouldn't even mind a sassy review every week - just one that's not sassing the same thing … most of the reviews just come across as completely bored by the show. Not even loved it or hated it, just bored.
Sidenote: I like Sims, just not in the Gilmore Girls review context.

given how Dean would freak out when he was with Rory over their relationship, I can totally see him doing something this stupid because he never got over her.

I don't think he actually shows up on that. Him and Lane have a fight over the phone which was off screen.

after my bitchfest about these reviews last week, this one was pretty ok. Comparatively.

yes people are interested, keep it up!

I know people have been harping on the quality of these reviews every single week but with this latest one, it really bothered me … these reviews are so terrible. They just completely miss the mark and do not live up to what I thought Gilmore Girls on AV Club would be like (except for the comments). It’s like they are

I think when I first watched the show I hated Logan because I personally would hate someone like Logan. When I rewatch it now, I can see what Rory would see in Logan and I'm a bit more ok with him.

I agree that the content of the episode is awesome, considering how cheesy it could have been, like you mentioned. But in execution, I agree with Sims that the actors were just not right for the job.
I feel like if you were to read a transcript of this episode, it would be amazing - but it ends up being like a bad

I really have to agree with Sims on Dear Emily and Richard. On paper, and even just dialogue wise, it is such an amazing episode. To see Lorelai's life back then, and have them contrast it against one of the few times when Lorelai and Emily are getting along… is kind of … epic (in the gilmore girls sense)

nice catch. I thought I knew of all of them but didn't realize this one!

I agree. It's been discussed here before, but it's easy to get caught up into disliking people that Lorelai or Rory have issues with

I guess that's why she's your ex! whatever yo, her loss!

I find season 7 to be better than season 6, even though ASP had already left the show in season 7. I'm almost certain she was tanking season 6 cause of her contract disputes.
