You know that you can set the app to just to be visible to you when you first connect it, then your friends won't see it. This is what I find to be much simpler.

Yeah, I know, not very good. We actually pay for 3 megs down and .75 up, but usually it seems much slower than the result below. BTW, this is at home. :) We pay $30 a month for it and a phone number.

Hmm... Wouldn't it just be easier to backup using Windows Backup directly to the NAS? I have been using an external drive. If only the Pi had a Gigabit port! :)

Over Wi-Fi it WILL be slow. You absolutely MUST have 100 Base-T Ethernet to transfer more than a few gigs. It takes a bit of time to set up, but once you have it set up, it'll run smoothly.
