@GitEmSteveDave: I don't know. We sometimes ask for supplier data from test labs for some important test equipment, but I've never asked a test lab I was at where it got its chickens.

@GitEmSteveDave: They don't go to the butcher shop to buy fresh game every time they run tests. The birds are kept frozen and usually allowed to thaw before being used.

@Unholy_Hero: They do have synthetic substitutes, and most places offer both, but for some tests they need the accuracy of a real bird.
