I mean, the hate-sex Asher was having with Michaela would be so much more interesting if it was with Connor (although he's busy in his breakup arc right now), or the 'you're family' conversation would have really gotten me if it had been between Laurel and Michaela, or I could totally buy Michaela bonding with Wes

I'm so baffled by the decision to write Michaela/Asher and Laurel/Wes when there are so many other pairings with actual chemistry and even fandom followings - especially seeing as they're really the most vanilla, heteronormative combinations of the Keating five and this show usually goes for max fun

I know Wes is useless but I hope he's okay. I mean… he's the puppy. It straight up cannot be Connor, though

Effective AND franchise appropriate! Although the HTGAWM gang mostly make disasters into catastrophes

I know what he did was serious and had consequences, but Alex can not do jail time for beating up a guy he thought was assaulting his passed out drunk girlfriend. Surely, with everything else characters have gotten away with. It feels kinda wrong for him to be wrung out to dry for this

After all the shit he gave her about hooking up with FakeMatt, hearing him admit he's been in love with that woman all along (after pretending not to remember sleeping with her when she caught him the first time) is infuriating and hurtful enough to make her snap, I buy it on it's own

I'm dying to watch the first half back, there has to be easter-eggs and so many choices already make more sense to me - if Wes Bentley's horrible accent was intentional because he was playing a reenactment-level actor playing a ghost I love and forgive him

Jo really is the worst. I can't even pinpoint why. It's like that general 'ugh, you don't belong here' thing you always get with new characters for a while, except she's been around for years

I really like the actress who plays Jo (Camilla Luddington is a kickass Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider games) but I still find that character so insufferably boring and unlikable. I want to like her, but she's just so….

Isn't Maggie's deal that she was an overachiever who went to college years early and/or graduated really early? I feel like maybe she's quite a bit younger than her peers and the show is overemphasizing it - it's still poor writing but it would make more sense

I think that joke was more of a self-drag, but the comments sections for 'low-brow' shows are always full of people who protest too much.

Me either. I was trying to go light because people are SO extra about him, to the point where even that comment was marked as spam by someone -_-

and to be fair, after she said she wanted to be alone he was like "you're choosing not to be with me?" and she said yes and asked to just be friends. I think that's pretty straightforward, but even if it was leaving the door open he slammed it shut when he refused and screamed abuse at her on the street

Mindy Lahiri idolizes hated politicians almost as much as she does pop stars

Yeah, character burnout is real, especially on a show like this that leans heavily on makeups and breakups

See, I interpreted this whole Choosing Neither thing as Mindy just deciding not to jump into a very, very serious relationship she's not 100% sure about, which is exactly what dating either Danny or Jody right now would be. So her being open to dating someone new semi-casually and seeing where it goes makes perfect

She's also a beautiful, rich doctor who 'slays dudes like whoa' so I never really found her that relatable. Kaling is super charming and sells it, but I can see how 5 seasons worth of relationship baggage and Mindy's-a-jerk jokes could kind of ruin the appeal for people
