Addendum: I’m being an insensitive fuck. Anti-trans discrimination is a huge deal, especially when it happens on a legal level. Write your congresspeople, speak up, keep being outraged.

These people are so fucking stupid. And also erasing the identity of transmen, as they tend to do.

I don’t live in either of those cities, and I’m certainly repulsed by it.

And white dudes who like little girls too much?

Didn’t ABC accuse her brother of being the killer, prompting a defamation lawsuit?

I won’t watch this. It would be one thing if the police decided to re-open the case, but this is just another rehashing of the same story; I don’t care how “original” it is.

Oh fucking hell.

That sort of morbid shlock “exposé” stuff associated with the case was ghoulish opportunism immediately after her death. At this point I don’t think we even have a word for this new low of self-serving, exploitative, pointless mud dredging. Are we honestly meant to sit here and now listen to other people’s opinions

If your point is there are a lot of shitty abusive mothers you won’t get an argument from me because I had one myself.

Researchers say these laws and policing practices disproportionately affect girls, who account for a growing share of juveniles arrested for domestic offenses (38 percent) and simple assaults (37 percent).

After a bit of googling, of course it’s a little black girl.

One thing this article doesn’t touch on but has been reported as well (my mother has actually had this happen to her):

I don’t call the police for anything, ever. Car’s been broken into? They won’t respond because the monetary value is less than $3000. My ex is sending me threats because I don’t want to keep his stuff forever? They’d probably side with him. Some guy follows me home from the bar? They take 30 minutes to show up, at
