It’s not that you will necessarily find someone doing these things. Part of that advice is that acting on your own behalf to find passion and happiness is that you won’t be obsessed with finding a partner all the time. Which in turn causes you to be more relaxed and attractive. Also, I’d love to see the fork.

I’m just going to leave this here, and I’ve been stuck in the greys forever, but Aimée, I got married for the first time at 59. I was okay with never being married, but I didn’t care for being alone. I prefer living with someone, and I remember the crushing loneliness. It’s brutal. But it doesn’t have to be a life

When I see bunches of Jezzies comparing their drug regimens I want to scream.

You forgot Voting to piss off the liberals. Ever so much fun!

Are you kidding? Ted Cruz is already whining about the Democratic “obstructionists.”

I used to live on the same street as the cemetary where the Mather family was buried. My dog used to pee there. Payback.

I wouldn’t compare her to Yogi Berra. He was famous for malaprops. Though they are equally quotable.

A little weird and a LOT wrong.

I’m so sorry to hear this. As someone who has been through it, this is what you need to know: Alcohol will always be number one in his life. Not you, not your child. This should not be acceptable to you. You almost definitely will need to separate, and stay separated until he goes through whatever treatment, program,

He’s Wesley Snipes!

There’s something called Herbatonin (which I buy online) and then I supplement with a couple of Valerian or Kava Kava (yes I prefer the natural route) and they work great for me.

Randall Park as the boyfriend? Sign me up! They break up in the first scene? Uh, I guess all I need to see is the trailer...

Rule 4a: it’s only fun to have something when you can deprive others.

I know, right? What was he wearing? How much did he have to drink?

Aw, he’s even doing the press-behind-the-bicep-to-make-them-look-bigger move! <sigh> Memories...

I agree. I love Semple’s writing, her characters and dialog and commentary are great, but the stories themselves are not my favorite. I disliked Today Will Be Different for the same reason.

That’s a good thing. Though I knew a lot of people in her crowd in NY in the early eighties, and she stepped on a lot of women’s toes on the way up. Also sold out to the patriarchy by using certain kinds of favors on men in power. That’s why I personally don’t consider her a feminist.

What has she done for feminism?

For real. They’re both horrible, and they only become feminists when they face any kind of discrimination personally. The absolutely could not care less about one other woman on the planet.

And yet the girls are doing a better job of journalism than the publishing industry dudes.
