I always hoped for a Qyburn/Melisandre showdown. You know, battle of the mystical weirdos with reviving powers.

The whole "he/she is no longer useful anymore so it's time for them to die" doesn't make sense to me. They could just stop featuring them in the story. The death has to be dramatic to the story being told, not just because they stopped contributing plot points.
