Quite a few characters in the film seem to be engaging more with the concept of Superman in pop culture than the character played by Henry Cavill.
I thought she'd follow up her lines in the trailer with something how if he's going to do good, it should be because he wants to, not out of some sense of obligation. (Which is a touch Objectivist in itself, but would follow up the rest of the speech in a way that gets back to something Superman-like).
They could go for a "Now we're a success, he says he wants to be in it" sort of thing.

I think the original idea was that she chose a name more independent of Superman than Supergirl did (the no-logo explanation was a lot later).

Sounds like they're taking safe bets with the Lego and Harry Potter spinoffs after having had a few big flops with more original films. It's the place of the DC films that makes less sense.
There's also the question of just how enthusiastic people are going to be about the DC films coming next.
Results were fairly middling when he and Millar took over 2000AD, though.
A lot of that is the heavy influence of Frank Miller's 1980-1982 run — not actually the seventies, but close enough in terms of period feel.
He probably is the character who's been least defined outside of his work. Not a fault with Henry Simmons' performance at all, and it's much less of an issue than Lincoln's dullness.

I saw High-Rise yesterday — very good, I thought, and Hiddleston's definitely suited to playing a Ballard protagonist.
