I think if you find yourself looking to ads and icons and tv stars for models of how to look there might be a self esteem issue at work. It won't be resolved by achieving The Look nor by eliminating airbrushing or photoshop. As I recall as a teen I compared myself to my fellow guys to feed my self loathing.
