@countjackula: Not really? All directions are given in true (weather, etc) and likewise plotting directions is done using the true degrees, then you just add or subtract the variation. The only time you receive something in magnetic is on the ATIS or when the tower reads you the wind. They don't want you to have to

@JohnnyricoMC: They DO heat the leading edge of wings on current airplanes using exhaust heat... This is where most of the icing would occur. Heating the top surface of the wings in to feasible at this point due to the already-tight area inside of the wing.

@nethkin: lol what cessna were you flying?!? Most newer cessnas (maybe even all) are fuel injected...but they carb ones have never reminded me :p
