I wasn’t really into the second movie until it hit about 2/3 of the way through. The world-building was interesting, but I really didn’t care. But then the movie goes batshit crazy and I was fully into it. Everything after Rome is A+ for me.

I appreciate that the series is (hopefully intentionally) keeping the ruthless element of the Punisher from the comics. I liked it in Daredevil S2 and it seems to be intact here. I enjoy this character best when the story is either explicitly darkly comic in tone, or when it makes clear that Frank is a murderous

I’d love a Battlefront style game with asymmetric gameplay wherein the Empire is significantly more powerful than the Rebels, but have to contend with a variety of weaknesses and inconveniences. The Rebels’ goal is always to flee or steal/sabotage while the Empire defends/invades. It has a persistent Galactic Conquest

Many of these tweets seem to be based on the idea that a spokesman for a product cannot have a political opinion in any way, even while not acting in a spokesman capacity. If it’s not Republican, anyway. Republican spokespeople are just expressing their natural American pride.

The first spotlight episode I can really remember watching and loving was “Company Man” from Heroes. That show is (deservedly) remembered somewhat poorly but Noah Bennett got out relatively clean. “Company Men” is a fantastic episode of television and he’s great in it.

I love White House Down with a passion. Part of it was probably my viewing experience in the theater (on my birthday, with a bunch of friends, and a hilariously enraptured audience), but I think it’s a reasonably well-made Die Hard clone that’s a lot of fun. It’s got Jimmi Simpson going hammier than he does as a

This is true. Although S2 of Fargo and Shut Eye are points in his favor.

I would say what Spacey did was more than just being a creep, it was assault. What Masterson *did was worse though, no question.

The AV Club seems to be split directly down the middle as to whether the writers enjoy or absolutely despise Jeffrey Donovan.

I mean, you’re right. The characters are certainly idealized and are, in some ways, archetypal heroes. And I also wouldn’t go so far as to say that the show is about trauma, so to speak. It’s a fun, well-made 80's movie on a lot of levels, but I also think it’s got a little bit more than that going on, and that holds

That I can believe. I can see his kindness being fully legitimate and real, but him also being willing to murder to keep what he considers important safe.

I didn’t particularly view Owens as threatening Nancy and Jonathan, as much as showing them the threat the gate posed and what had to be done to stop it. There’s threat inherent in that, certainly, but I didn’t view it as direct. That said, I could’ve just been drawn in by the Ol’ Reiser charm.

Jeez, I hope not. The ninjas have been the villains in the three worst Netflix/Marvel shows so far.

Lockout has been on my list for a while. I’m always down for a good Guy Pearce movie. I’m glad to hear that it’s good.

Sigh, I wish it was Starred Up’s Jack O’Connell. Or even ‘71's Jack O’Connell. But it’s always Unbroken.

This was a solid year for action. The Raid is obviously incredible, Haywire is an iffy movie with great action, Dredd is a goddamn masterpiece and I’m still sad that it won’t get a sequel. Skyfall is a lot of fun as well, and Jack Reacher is a b-movie of shocking quality. The most surprising to me is Expendables 2,

I’ve been looking forward to this for a while, because I’ll always give Martin Campbell a shot (for Casino Royale and Goldeneye alone. Legend of Zorro is just icing). I’m glad it’s solid.

I find it very entertaining that the son of Stacker Pentecost, one of the most absurd leading man names in recent history (it’s almost Cypher Raige level), is named fuckin’ Jake. They just gave up on finding something ridiculous and were like “Whatever. Name him Jake or some shit”.

I was also really surprised with that. Even if one found it to be the best season, it’s not that different from the last two. It was a fine season. Probably equal to season 1. Had some highlights, and a lot of pretty good episodes. Pretty good for this show is high quality, but still.

I don’t really consider Legion, Deadpool, or the Wolverine movies part of the X-Men franchise. I know they’re technically all canon, but they have no or next to no relation to each other (Not that the main movies make much sense, continuity-wise). I probably won’t think of Gifted that way either.
