Blue Bloods is dire.
Blue Bloods is dire.
I hope Cavill is the villain in this. I liked The Man From U.N.C.L.E. well enough and he was good in it, but I'm interested to see the sort of cool detachment he has, used for a villainous purpose. Certainly better than making him the the Big Blue Boy Scout.
(Seriously, he seems like such a psychopath in BvS. He'd…
I'd accept that.
I'm looking forward to when he can be safely called "Legion's Dan Stevens".
The Good Place is shockingly great. I'm going into this show really hoping it's in the same ballpark. It might be, by the looks of the reviews.
Since I haven't watched anything headed by Scott Buck, I can't commiserate with you. (He sounds awful, though). Still, this show sounds bad in exactly the same way that DD S2 was bad, in that it's boring and bland. Now, if you enjoyed that season, God bless you. I'm legitimately happy someone got enjoyment out of…
So, assuming this is as rough as it sounds, it will be the second marvel series to heavily feature mysticism and martial artist enemies. Also the second to fully suck. I am really having doubts about The Defenders. Especially with it featuring The Hand and the showrunners of Daredevil season 2.
To be fair, Daredevil was fighting primarily white villains in the first season, Nobu excepted. They eased in to the trope in the second season.
Love me some Sauron.
That Rogue probably also has super strength and the ability to fly and, as such, doesn't have to be sidelined before every fight or risk being an active drain (hah) on the team. Rogue is so cool in the comics, and so much less so in the movies. She's a good character in the film version, but still.
I'm happy that was actually Sauron. Its a deep cut for such a little reference and it shows a level of respect, or at least familiarity, with the source material that many of the other movies don't necessarily have. It's legitimately delightful. Also, because I thought to myself: "That looks like Sauron." And…
So he was. He seems to have been working pretty steadily since. I think he was a recurring actor on True Blood for a while as well.
Touche.
Always good to see that guy from The Wire: Season 2 (Chris Bauer) getting work. Even if this isn't great.
Question: Do you do this on every Michael Shannon movie article?
This…This must be a joke. It has to be. I do like Same Damn Time as a dumb, fun song though. And I've thought Shit is one of the funniest songs ever for years. Because Future's flow is unbelievably terrible on it. I've best heard it described as "Someone holding Future's hand to a hot stovetop and making him…
Upvoted for the goddamn Sky High reference.
Avatar was a fun movie that I enjoyed at the time. Now, the time was 2009 and I was 13, but still. I really like the elements of the movie that are so dumb they're hilarious, like Stephen Lang's Colonel who is so ridiculously bad-ass that he runs into poison air without oxygen so he can shoot at the heroes. And his…
The Ward reveal made me laugh out loud with delight. This show has really taken an unprecedentedly fantastic turn. I hope it gets renewed for next season. It deserves to be.
I just saw that. Holy shit, that's crazy-stupid. How could they have thought that was ok?
