Boy, do we wish his Twitter account was taken away.

Alphas was the first time I saw him as well. He even moved up in the Superhero world with Luke Cage this year. (Alphas was pretty great though.)

I watched Furious 7 which was wonderfully entertaining, Nightcrawler which was pretty good, and saw Arrival for the second time. Not necessarily because I needed to see it twice, but because a friend of mine that I knew would love it wouldn't go see it unless I went with him. Fantastic movie, though.

I think to qualify as flops, success has to have been, at some point, a possibility.

I remember the first time I really saw John Hurt in something was him being the best thing in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He had no reason to even be in that movie, and he still killed the role of Oxley.

Ah, thank you.

Oh man. Didn't see this one coming. I mean, he was 77, so I guess I should've, but still. What a legend.

The Heroic Trio is so awesome. Both ironically and unironically fantastic. I haven't seen the Fugitive in years, but I really should watch it again.

I hope they space it out a bit, too. I think part of the problem with The Reptile Room in particular was that the timeframe was compressed to two days as opposed to at least a week we see in the book. (It may be more than a week, it's been a long time since I read that book.)

Small thing, but why hire a British actor for Klaus? The actress who plays Violet is American and they have American accents so it seems odd. I'm not a huge fan of his actor but at least part of his problems have to stem from the fact that he's constantly (and not always successfully) maintaining an accent.

The best movie in the series, was the one where they let a different (but qualified) director take control. And they instantly walked it back. Please let someone else take the show.

Works well with the Swanson Safe last episode.

I found it played way too much into the humor and not enough into the horror. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it just seemed as soft-pedal her death quite a bit. It's also the first time the children see a death in real life, and they really don't react to it at all. I don't know, didn't work for me. I'm

My lord this show is dumb. That teaser is the most hyperbolic thing, I swear to god. I've still binged every season. The end of last season, when Frank and Claire declaring fucking war to win an election, gives me hope that the show is just going to descend into lunacy. Which will be very entertaining, because the

Can't argue with that. Good button to end the season on.

They are the best of the show so far, absolutely. I think the ending of that arc sort of illustrates my problem though. We get a good scene at the end and that's the climax of the vignettes. Essentially we get an effective introduction to characters that are already going to be introduced effectively. I would have

I'm sure that's the purpose. However, the books were able to do that as well without vignettes featuring the Quagmire parents. It just seems like an unnecessary redirect in a show that could use a little more focus. Still, it was an effective redirect at least.

True, although I feel like they could have used the murder of Gustav to do that very thing. They sort of breeze right by it. (Though to be fair, the books do as well.)

True. It seems like the Young Pope isn't that far off what you're describing.

I'm of deeply mixed feelings about this episode. The actual meat of it was great. The constant maneuvering between Olaf and the Baudelaires is a lot of fun and manages to mix a little bit of tension into the mix. Poe's terrified babbling after he sees the snake is something I forgot I remembered from reading this
