Manufacturers need to up their game.

Fun! I didn’t realize it was a team effort; I would have finished mid-pack by myself! How does one sign up??

My senior year of high school (1983 in MT) math class was Algebra. And my high school would never have suggested a math problem with a car doing 20 over the national speed limit!

I work for an online, dealer-to-dealer auction. We slowed down significantly, but never stopped, which means someone (me) has to drive to the dealer and write up the inspection. Mucho new protocols and PPE required on everyone’s end including no person-to-person interaction except electronically.

It doesn’t really do anyone any favors to dwell on theoretical situations.” The end. Next article, please.

Some new folks moved in next door when I was a sophomore in high school and lived there until I graduated. She was a former Miss California and he was a nuclear physicist who drove a root beer brown, ‘70 340 Cuda with a pistol grip four speed. He gave me a ride, she never did.

“If" people are updating their resumes? Lol!

This is my not holding breath face.

Dealer to dealer sales are still happening as they’re trending more and more toward online auctions.

“Wrangler"?! Da fuq is wrong with you?!?

“Quality cars"?! Step away from the crack pipe, Mario.

Yeah, didn’t read the article, Land Rovers are fucking garbage. Hopefully the 420 helped you guys get through that.

You worked for VW? As in Corporate? Clearly you were not a dealership technician (as I was), otherwise, you would never stoop so low as to use the word, “great” to describe anything about VWs that aren’t air-cooled. Jason’s description of VW design and build mentality is spot fucking on.

I don’t work for UPS, but my employer is keeping the lights on by having everyone work from home unless absolutely necessary (we’re an online auto auction). Still, a company email came out today leading with a paragraph about sales figures, before moving on to current events and precautions. Oof.

Do you know anything about Russian-built vehicles? Cars, trucks, aircraft, etc. Oh boy, the aircraft. If not, do some research (especially the aircraft). Now apply your opinion of such machinery to your beloved Jeep products, because samey-same. Also apply that not inaccurate opinion to every U.S. car manufacturer.

I'm going with something more outside the box, i.e. rotary (3-rotor?) or radial engine. Not a V or inline at all.

Collins, you may want to check into your local community college about English classes because, damn.

New car dealerships are amateurs. If you’d like to see some pro-level shit, visit your local used car lot. My job is inspecting vehicles and I am astounded at the level of fuckery some (i.e. a shit ton of) car lots stoop to. I’m talking TODAY I inspected a 2020 RAV4 that had been t-boned on the passenger side. The car

I clicked this story hoing to hear "thunder". All I get is gear whine, pops and bangs. Clickbait.

Great article. It took me back to my childhood when my uncle had a few Renault 16s. For some odd reason, he and I were the only ones who thought they were cool. I learned to drive column-shift manual trans on them, and they had some of the most comfortable seats I’ve ever experienced in a car!
