Today I know people with master’s degrees making $16 per hour and feeling good about it, so either $15/hour is absurd for unskilled labor, or $16/hour is absurd for skilled labor. Either way something is broken.

Certainly it bears watching, but between now and then I think we need to focus on creating people centric career paths. Both parties seem to focus on meaningless stats of “jobs created” with little regard to creating a viable path for young citizens to pursue happiness... which for most people means having the

I’m really not sure it’s that obvious. Clearly there are some issues as we sit currently, but I don’t think that should be considered a judgment on Capitalism as an economic philosophy.

Absolutely, there are lots of jobs, they just aren’t always where you want them or what you want to be doing. Hard workers will always be in demand.

I’m really torn by the idea of basic income. We like to imagine a world where basic income allows us a comfortable life, but I think it will end up being subsistence living. Squalor with no real way to get ahead. I could be wrong, I tend to think USSR, and Cuba, when most proponents point to Finland.

I think the other issue is that for the last 30 years there has been a huge stigma on vocations. When you funnel everyone into a college educated path you end up with an excess of those sorts of qualified people, and no qualified technicians, machinists, mechanics, etc. IMO that is what we are seeing now. Try to hire

While your analogies are interesting your premise is sound. I think the increasing minimum wage may accelerate kiosk implementation, but like you said it was just a matter of time anyway.

This really isn’t a new story. Automation has been killing jobs for almost a century now, when did Ford streamline his production line? Granted this is more in your face, but in the end business will choose the cheapest path to production and the highest sale point the market will bear. That’s how capitalism works.

Generally I’m a lifted 4x4 cj guy, but I love the rat rod aesthetic for bar hopping. It looks like a perfect little burnout machine.

I’m not much for brand new vehicles, my daily is a 86 CJ7, but if they produce the diesel as promised I’d seriously consider a 4 door Rubicon. This is the first time, in a very long time I’ve been impressed with their latest offering.

I’d say you could see my house, but there are clouds in the way.

Yeah, I missed it, I was just excited about it being from my home town. Thanks for being polite while pointing out my oversight.

Like I said before.

Hey no worries, you keep making the world a better place. Clearly you’re a great contributor.

Well aren’t you a gentleman, proud of yourself?

Isn’t this from Colorado Springs?

you know it might have cost you more time to buy something in a less rusty part of the country, but I have to think you would have saved time overall.

I think the better option would be rentable, towable gas generators that could be rented one way, like u haul. Unlimited power driven from existing infrastructure.

Just like ads! Just block them!

This is what happens when you pass a dramatic reform unilateraly. Democrats did it and really shouldn’t have, and now Republicans are trying to do it, and it will burn them too. This is a lose, lose.
