But don't forget we had the the animation renaissance that gave us Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. Nothing animated on TV today has that kind of production values. They really don't make 'em like that anymore. Hand-drawn and -painted everything. Fully orchestrated score. Good old-fashioned comedy writing.

That's funny. I think my dad liked that movie as much or more than we did as kids. I think someone ended up giving it to him for Christmas. To be fair it does have an interesting balance of warmth and gently existential gallows humor.
