It will be interesting to see if Honda was alone in tracing this issue back to Takata because you are right, a TON of other manufacturers used these airbags and I find it hard to believe that they only commonly grenade in Honda’s. I know that in mustangs they will grenade like this so im really curious if ford traced

Unless GM cars of that era are different from every other car I have driven, the key going from the on position to the accessory position doesnt make the steering lock go on. The key has to be completely out of the ignition for the steering lock to go on.

Agreed, especially about the bailout. Im sure the thought process is something like “we bailed them out with MY tax dollars so they could hide the fact that they installed unsafe ignition switches??”.

I think the lack of backlash against Honda has to do with the fact that the air bags aren’t unique to Honda and in order for the airbag to hurt you, you need to crash. Where as the ignition switch can cause you to crash through loss of power steering and power brakes. Honda also has a great reputation for reliability

No one said anything about patting ourselves on the back. Also if you had read the article, you would have read that this particular terrorist learned to fight when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, so we didn't create this particular terrorist.

Why go through all that work and not do a cold air intake that is sealed off from the rest of the engine bay?

There is nothing illegal about killing a terrorist. There is nothing illegal about killing someone who we know to have been responsible for the deaths of multiple people.

Because all new concepts work perfectly immeadiately. Did you ever stop to think that maybe reinventing the race car wouldn’t be a silky smooth process? Instead of being a pessimist, why not enjoy the fact that someone has the courage to try something different.

I agree, especially because it wasn't just a victory for the car, it was a victory for the entire race team because they used strategy in addition to a great car and great drivers to win.

Agreed. Especially because he didn’t crash on his own, he was “helped” by the driver of a toyota prototype if I remember correctly.

Now THAT is an exhaust note worthy of a Ford GT.

That really depends, I would think the best comparison in soccer/football would be if someone were blocking an offender from making a run or taking a shot on goal, if that were the case I doubt many people would be upset if the dude fell of was hit by the ball or bumped into by the player because the dude is being an

Or at the very least make a new car on the miata platform, call it the MX-7, and drop the Mazda Speed turbo 4 in it.

I feel most jalops will agree that an open top CX-5 setup like this is far more appropriate.

In other words. Spend the price of a pretty clean FD RX7 to make your S3 incredibly vulgar and flashy while simultaneously nuking it's resale value.

I would have happily driven a miata as my first car.

Considering that the 90’s was a decade when you could find hideous appearances with shitty reliability, I think that the gen 3 taurus is undeserving of that title. It may have been ugly but it was a pretty good car mechanically. And before anypne comments about how terrible the transmissions were, they were only shit

Mazda Speed lover here, this is the appropriate response to people who say that stupid shit.

When you are talking about a car like the GT350R, or any car equivalent to it, there are 2 things that matter, numbers, and the way it feels to drive. The GT350R will accel in both.
