This makes it sound like the game and the player will be having an argument…
"Let's see…I'll name you…BUTTS."
"I am Setsuna."
"Nope, BUTTS."

"Nah, BUTTS."
"I am

Yeah, I love Trigger's sadder themes. Sealed Door is possibly my favorite from the game, and it carries a sense of ancient tragedy. But, the game, in the end, was still featuring a spiky haired kid, a nerdy girl, a Disney princess, a talking frog, a robot, and a cavewoman flying around in a time machine.
Hmm, the plot description does sound more along those lines. The idea of melancholy fits that more too; Chrono Trigger to me always struck a note of fun-loving, cheesy adventure. It's why I couldn't get into Cross. It started off so dark and different that it didn't feel like it was a true sequel.
I'm curious about this, but have a lot on my plate and thus am hesitant to drop $40 quickly. I've avoided learning too much, though, since I like surprises. But, the first paragraph of this review gives me more hope than anything else I've seen, simply because Samantha says it goes beyond nostalgia. Basically…
I think you just did!
Yeah, Spla2n needs to happen on the NX. And with how much insanity the game generated, there's no way they'll leave it to neglect. Concerts, comics, food tie-ins, candies, stickers, it's gotten more love (at least in Japan) than some of Nintendo's IPs that have been around since the NES days.
Crypt of the Necrodancer for me. There haven't been many games that I've been playing catch-up on, and it's actually the only one that comes to mind that I hadn't played at all, but it still wins. It's pretty much a game made for me and the first rogue-like that I actually feel drawn to.
I liked LBW, but it is true that the one-item-per-dungeon setup meant less of the items working together. They at least did tend to serve a purpose for combat, though, so having all the items at any time could make battles better. It also meant that the dungeons adopted some cooler gimmicks, to make up for the fact…
Mark Brown deserves more views in general. I usually end up watching videos of his even for games that I don't play (didn't watch the Her Story one because he said about two minutes in to absolutely not watch if you hadn't played it).
DKC2 is the absolute must play of the old ones; there's a lot of good in 1, but catching up on every retro game in a backlog can be impossible, so I recommend just going for 2. (3 isn't terrible, but is regarded by just about everyone as the weakest of the 3). Also, the 3DS version of Returns is good, from what I…
Definitely going for Mass Attack at some point; I was intrigued at its release, but didn't have a DS, and then I only saw a copy of it in the wild once.
Oh, I also didn't mention in my first post, but there is a big Splatoon LAN tournament happening in Chicago over the weekend. I'll definitely be taking some time on Saturday to watch the livestream. https://smash.gg/tournament…
For a year or two, my wife and I pulled out the game around Christmas, just to go through those levels. Cozy Cabin is just pure delight.
Ooh, is it the original Paper Mario? One of my absolute favorite RPGs…
I was a little interested in New Island, but then I played the demo. The pause before throwing an egg was just too much, it made it feel less crisp. It's weird that in a game that seems to be so closely following the original that they would make such an annoying change.
I'm not sure if Woolly World is better than the original, but I do feel like if someone only has time to play one Yoshi game, it should be that one. Unlockable costumes, beautiful graphics, co-op, it just feels like it has the most to it. If someone ends up really liking the gameplay, go to the original for more fun.
Kirby is solid and I highly recommend it, and, as mentioned, I like Star Fox Zero…but I also understand that it's not for everyone, and it does have a lot of silly choices that hold it back. There's a demo for it now, but I also don't highly recommend it, since the Training mode that it demos was actually off-putting…
…they actually technically did. One of Link's weapons is him riding Epona.
Yeah, but then I'll have to find her card…oh no, I'm going to buy tons of packs of cards just to find her, aren't I?
As much as I love Majora's Mask, I was skeptical about Skull Kid being in…what would he do? But, he's actually really fun to play. Using the two fairies as his weapons is awesome, and I can't help but grin at his constant laughing.
