It feels less like a retread of 64 so much as a refinement. 64, due to the different pathing, always felt a bit incoherent as a story. You show up at a planet for no reason other than you have to go through this planet. Sometimes, why you were even going through a planet wouldn't be revealed until later ("THIS is the

I would say Pikmin 3 or the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Both of them just felt so precise and like a natural direction that their series would go.

Wii Sports Resort and Skyward Sword arguably had that, actually. Was part of why I actually really liked Skyward Sword, since I just loved feeling like I was actually swinging around Link's sword for once. It's ultimately a bit different than perfect 1:1 (the sword does follow your motions, 1:1, except that it can't

Studio Mir's work continues to look excellent. Korra unfortunately suffered a few times from having to go to another studio (can't remember what), which had weaker animation. Budget problems, giving us clipshows and cancellations since…whenever.

If there's enough going on, they can be thrilling in their own right. To me, I like the idea that a game can say "Why do we need to have the player walk from one action piece to the next, when we can just keep the action scenes going?". There's also a heavy appeal for people who like repetition and discovery. Being

I'm curious if the decision to reboot Star Fox again isn't actually based on the quality of the previous lore, but rather the quality of the previous games. Changes to characters sounds interesting, like Pepper's death and Krystal taking Peppy's place, but the reception of the games that made these changes was less

Yeah, I cheered a little when Edea showed up, complete with Baby Bird playing.

Out of curiousity, what are you referring to with "Kirby sequel"? If it's Return to Dreamland on the Wii, I can't recommend doing that enough. It's arguably the best of the regular Kirby games (competing with Triple Deluxe, but that's a 3DS) and it has great co-op. If you're referring to Rainbow Curse on the Wii U,

Yeah, finding new weapons became a lot more rewarding whenever it potentially meant dropping a cool new magic spell into Vivi's arsenal.

I hated him for a lot of the game because he was so racist, but I slowly began to appreciate that side of him as just someone who doesn't know better. There are still some problems with him (he's played a bit too much as comedic relief, sometimes at inappropriate times), but he was a much better character than I first

The crass and awful things that Miis are saying has seemed to be the best part of the app. People make jokes about how surprised they are that Nintendo didn't censor words, but we all know that they wanted us to do this. The fact that they've been such a G-PG company makes the vulgarity all the more shocking, and thus

I cover Nintendo news on weekday nights, and so have actually gotten to see a bit of ZTD stuff since it pops up during my shift. A lot of people seem pretty passionate about it, so, if I decided that I have free time and want a new game, how would you recommend getting into the series? Or does it seem like ZTD might

X definitely represents the start of the "over-designed" look for Final Fantasy (and maybe even JRPGs as a whole). There's just so much going on with most of the character's outfits that it's just distracting. There are a few good ones sprinkled throughout, like Yuna or Auron, but so many just feel like Nomura wrapped

I was sad that I only really got one match in for the last Splatfest, but I think it gave me a single snail? Regardless, I'm hoping for more rounds this time, since I don't work on Friday night and thus might be able to wake up on Saturday.

Oh, Miitomo, one of the things that would make me happy to have an actual smartphone. Especially in its launch week, I would have loved to have gotten in on the weirdness, but my older device means I miss out. Oh well, at least I still have buttons for texting.

The first game, 64, and this are all reboots. In this case, though, I feel like a reboot was somewhat justified, given how messy the lore got through the games after 64. It bears comparison to another furry franchise: Sonic. That's a series that could really use a nuke-everything-and-start-from-scratch approach.

I was very young when this show aired, so, while my parents were first excited for it, they soon stopped us watching it since its humor could be a bit more…"tonight". It still is a bit weird, but when it's still delivering Muppets-style, good-natured humor, it's pretty fun.

Looking into it, I don't think they've officially announced it, but it's apparently been strongly hinted at (especially since they haven't put anything out even recently and have no announced projects). http://www.neogaf.com/forum…

So, first off, wanna make sure that everyone saw the pretty darn cool short anime that is basically leading up to and showing the first mission of the game.

Well, they sadly won't hand it to Treasure, since Treasure closed down recently. But the Sin and Punishment games are absolute gems.
