i ended up catching the ny's day marathon of this and it totally sucked me in after the first couple of episodes. i'm hoping it continues with the back half of the season.

the opening scene was the worst. the music was jarring and overpowering to the action - all i could hear was the music… i seriously told my tv to shut the front door!
firefly and then you must review serenity, please!!! bring my av club fridays back (though i may attempt to get thru angel's last season with you - i wasn't enamored with the first few episodes, but i can't bear to leave this community!)
you've totally convinced me with every one of those points. it's the perfect thing to do while i wait for my tomato sauce to simmer. (but first i gotta get it on the stove.)
i actively search out sites that have current buffy love, because i just love this show so much, i like being around people that feel the same way :) myles mcnutt (who i believe is a contributer here) was doing his cultural catch up project with buffy&angel : http://cultural-learnings.c… but he's gotten distracted,…
that's amazing. i am sorry that you had to go thru that - my oldest boy is in 8th grade, and i hate the thought of him being in that kind of situation. the first ep i ever caught was beauty and the beasts, and i happened to be married to a verbally and sometimes physically abusive man. it wasn't until OMWF that i…
a bear! a bear!! you made a bear!!!!
yes, she does reference it "i king-arthured it out of that stone"
smg captures the dialogue perfectly and kills it. spike's face, his reaction to her, also makes it an amazing buffy moment.
i'm nowhere near as eloquent as sophist or noel, but i love this show with every fiber of my being. it changed my life, and made me realize that I could be as empowered with my life as I wanted to be. as hokey as it may sound, buffy made me believe that i had the power to win. and for that, i thank joss.
seeing red was insane. holy fuck is right. never a fan of superstar. was just a little too hokey for me. think that's why i never liked storyteller either. the faith 2 parter was this year's girl and who are you, and i will NEVER tire of those two episodes… especially when "buffy" got all up on spike in the…
also forgotten on this list BAND CANDY!! (along with all others noted in this thread. 10 is just not enough!!!)
you're not the only one :) that spike speech totally kills, but what gets me welling up every time is this:
I was happy. Wherever I… was… I was happy. At peace. I knew that everyone I cared about was all right. I knew it. Time… didn't mean anything… nothing had form … but I was still me, you know? And I was warm… and…
agreed. and while we totally differ in ages, what's awesome about this show is that it transcends all of that. i love being able to talk to people about this show, and read awesome write ups like noel's and sophist's who can express what i'm feeling so much better than i ever could.
bad girls rocked. as did enemies. i never saw it coming.
i love everything about what you've written here, and, obviously, wholeheartedly agree. buffy is the only show, in a multitude of shows that i watch, that has not only resonated with me in the initial moment, but 7 years later, rewatching and discussing, resonated all over again.
your approach is infinitely better!! and i thought i was the only one who liked i only have eyes for you!!!
laugh out loud moment when he walks into that tree… no matter how many times i've seen it.
formatting may be bad, but i love that scene :)
LMPTM and Normal Again are also two favorites of mine. i know Normal Again angers a lot of people with it's final image, but i just thought it was so well done. absolutely loved it. and buffy & spike's fight in smashed was hawt.
