If you pay nearly $312,000 for a car, it had better be pretty special, right? Fortunately, the McLaren 650S Spider has special in spades. Besides its insane turbo power and glorious handling, a lot of that specialness is in the little details. Here are some of my favorites.

I am not sure what you are referring to, but the turbochargers are entirely hidden from view in this photo. By a lot.

Depends... Whats wrong with said sheet of plywood? Ba-Dum-Tshhh

We've dogged on NHTSA and DOT fairly hard in the past for their random priorities, but this is a reasonable thing to try and address as there doesn't seem to be a great deal of public consciousness about the dangers.

The 348 is one of my very most favorite vehicles ever to wear the prancing horse badge, and yet somehow(!), I have never noticed that asymmetrical intake, until now.

Umm... I dare say Porsche could do a bit better than that. Hah!

Hello, friends! Welcome to a new series where I'll try to make you feel inspired with a photograph of the inside of a trunk! I'm so sick of being inspired and uplifted by sunsets and lighthouses and soaring asshole birds. Enough already. Let's get inspired within the dark, dank confines of a car trunk. Trunkward ho!

Not pictured: The "silly" rear-mounted name-plate that is coincidentally just cut out of this photo. It is mounted to the base of the engine glass.

Um. I believe that would be a window. Ya know, like to improve rearward visibility.

This is deeply upsetting to me. I have traditionally always loved Audi interiors. Without exaggeration, this is the least attractive Audi interior that I have seen in years! Why wouldn't they use those gorgeous new air vent designs from the new A3 and TT (perhaps made from higher-quality materials to avoid

CP.

Actually, it is not. While such a callback or homage would be appreciated by enthusisasts like you and me, a one-piece front end like that would be prohibitively expensive for a contemporary vehicle of this production quantity and value. Insurance companies would riot in the streets!

Pretty cool way to personalize your ride.

What's going to happen when Chevy comes along with a Z06 that's even more powerful and very likely faster than the Viper? Will SRT have to up their game, or will this be it for the snake?

I think I kind of miss a nice painted B-pillar.

Personally, I would have rather seen a lower intake treatment that did more to blend away under the bumper bar, calling less attention to itself.

Nice! I dont think I've seen you around before. I'm from the Orchard Park area, right by the Bills stadium. Are you ever in that area? Ever seen mine around?

Wow. As an avid automotive enthusiast of the same age, I can honestly say your story fascinated me. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. An extraordinary "first car story," truly. It sounds like your father was any young gear-head's dream dad. I'm very sorry for your loss. As someone who has never had the pleasure

I see what you did there...

I am an owner of a 1995 Audi, and have a few friends/family members with newer ones. I am fairly active on the forums and as far as I can tell, it totally depends on the year and model with Audi (as is the case with many manufacturers). For example, user muwenk responded to your question and said they owned a 2002
