What a rollercoaster. The first 10 minutes alone… they knew they could use that plotline to manipulate the fuck out of us, and they milked every single drop out of the opportunity. And it was incredible. I went from smiling in disbelief at Nadine's speech to feeling so devastated for Ed that I genuinely worried for a

She loved him, he felt guilty about shooting her eye out and knew it'd be an emotional/psychological blow to her if he left.

In the original series Andy didn't know how to use duct tape. I'd say the only thing that felt off this season was Lucy's inability to handle cellphones, but thankfully that turned out to be the exception rather than the rule.

IIRC someone calls him by first name and he, in a daze, responds "Garland? Judy Garland?"

We would have seen Shelly in grief in this episode too, I'd think. Unless Steven killed Becky literally an hour or two before committing suicide, and no one had yet found the body. I really doubt it, it feels like a stretch on multiple levels.

Their banter about Mormons a couple weeks back was very Tarantino-esque too.

This episode could have followed up Ed and Norma's big scene by nothing but flashbacks of James and Evelyn and it still would have earned an A on the basis of those first 11 minutes alone.

Eh. Another side of the same very boring coin.

I don't think Daldry is creative enough for that. And even if he were Kathleen Kennedy would show him the door real quick. He'll just do what he's told and enjoy the paycheck.

A movie actually taking place at any point during the many hundreds of years of the Old Republic would be neat. It's too bad that actually expecting a Star Wars spin-off to not be directly tied to the story we already know seems more naive today than ever.

Why of course Lucasfilm, get around to the one prequel spin-off that actually makes sense and already has a proven lead actor all excited about it, and then court just about the most boring prestige director imaginable to direct it.

Just make sure you're not under the influence.

All the handwringing about this particular issue (actually a non-issue except for people dead-set on making it one) is getting more baffling and off-putting to me by the day.
