Ah ok, I wasnt sure if it had been/was being cancelled with the DC reboot thats coming, I've read the first few issues but I'm not a huge Scooby Doo fan so usually skip it. I DO still read the Futurama comic though

I remember when I was a kid finding the comic adaption of the movie in my library and being terrified of the bit where Dorian kills Peggy by shoving her in the printing press and the papers come out with her blood.
I told my friends about it but none of them believed me for years that was a scene until the DVD came out…

The Archie Sonic comics are good for that, DC was doing a "Scooby Doo Team Up series" that had HB stuff like the Flintstones but also heroes like Batman & Aquaman guest starring. Theres also Adventure Time comics

Agreed, that or Batman the Animated series would be better introductions, they have some great storytelling but nothing that might scare kids (barring one or two scenes)
