Completely fair and thoughtful take. It makes a lot of sense that Tesla would skimp on the weight that exists for aesthetic considerations so that they avoid the two and a half ton curb weight of the Taycan.

I think you have to keep in mind that Tesla needs to offset the weight of the battery packs. Yes, they could make the doors thunk heavily but you’d end up with every car weighing 5000+ pounds which isn’t really practical. I’ve owned a fair number of cars including Porsche and VW vehicles and I think your perspective…
