Medical records are amongst the most valuable on the black markets.  They tend to contain all the data one needs to falsify identities and cause all kinds of financial mayhem.  So while you may not care that they have your MRI, the demographics that do along with that MRI are quite valuable.

easiest way to get around that is to ask for a separate check at the beginning of the meal. avoids the issue entirely and if someone complains then you know that person is the actual cheapskate as they intended to order something more expensive and get their cost reduced thanks to the tab split.
