It’s worth mentioning, it may not have a 3.5 mm jack, it may have a 2.5 mm jack, which you can buy a cheap adapter for. That’d be the easiest option. If the author happens to read this comment, please feel free to reply with the model of the phone and I’ll do some research into your options.

I was personally able to reproduce a crash with “loop one” enabled on 3.0.7.1 Windows, but I’m not sure if that’s the same bug they’re referring to. Doesn’t crash with looping off.
