Gott. Im. Himmel. My goosebumps have goosebumps.

Now playing

Farewell dear Renesis, I will miss you. Please accept this song of farewell. I can only hope that phoenix-like, you will someday arise from the ashes of the 16X and be born anew in the next RX incarnation.

Oh, I'm sure the BRZ/FR-S has extremely competitive steering. I'll have to take your word on its superiority to the Miata, as I haven't driven the Toyota/Subaru offering.

Oops, yes, I meant RWD-only. I need more caffeine.

Don't these bikers ever learn? I mean, everyone knows what happens when you mix vehicles, high-speed impacts and antagonistic behavior.

Well, don't despair... that (somewhat undeserved) reputation crafted by Ralph Nader has helped to keep the resale value of these cars down to quite reasonable levels. I think you can find a rather nice example now for about $8-10K. $25K will bag you a pristine model.

Well, until the arrival of the BRZ/FR-S the Miata wss kind of unique in its combination of light weight, limited grip & power, and RWD/manual trans tendencies. The Genesis coupe and V^ 'stang are certainly capable machines, but are much larger/heavier, with resultant different suspension setups and handling

It's fascinating how much this car is like a Miata. In fact, if you changed all the instances of the "BRZ" and "FR-S" to "Miata" and modify a couple other points, you would have a review of the modern Miata. The main differences I can see between the two are:

A second-gen Corvair Monza coupe, with the M/T. By '65, the crazy-ass rear suspension had been replaced with a proper multi-link setup. Lovely cars.

If only...

It was? I TL;DR'd his story too, so I never read the responses. :)

Oh, I know you hung onto every word. Admit it.

Not many road trips (much less bad ones) in my memory, but I can think of perhaps one which stands out, if you discount the time I drove out of southern Louisiana during a hurricane — which to be honest, was kind of fun and easy:

Wish I had the time,

Yup — if you're going to drink, always get a designated driver, be-fore you get into trouble.

Fascinating. It's interesting to note on the LMP cars how much of the suspension of the car is just the sidewall flex. The chassis so stiff and the suspension so hard that the majority of the absorption is just the tires.

If you're looking for a classic, [oldride.com] isn't a bad place to look. I've developed an unhealthy obsession with Corvairs (Thanks, Raphael), and the site has several nice ones up for sale.

I think the answer would be, "because moonshine and meth."

Well, I'm certainly glad that he's doing the right thing, but teaching your kids proper form should be a general rule, which should obviate the need for companies to install a buzzer.

Man, that is 10 grand worth of awesome, right there! Nice-
