+1 for the stupid always-illuminated gauges.  So many people these days drive at night without their lights on because of this stupid change made to cars in recent years.

Every time I buy a used car, I always end up imagining some incident like this in the vehicle’s past that I won’t know about until the frame breaks in half. I don’t even trust a dealership inspection anymore. Especially not from my local BMW dealer.
