As much as I think Amazon overall fucks their employees, they have really raised the bar on the lower end of the labor market in places where they have warehouses.  The day Amazon raised their starting wage to $15, I saw many, many other local employers do the same. 

So much this. I watched an interview on NBC over the weekend where a reporter was talking to a restaurant owner who complained that unemployment benefits were the reasons he couldn’t get enough employees.

Regarding your neutral - the city I’m in has been doing just that. Taking 4-lane roads and making them 3 (so, centre turning lane). Planning on removing cars from downtown. AND increasing one-way roads in residential areas where traffic is too high (and the roads are narrow).
