I fail to understand how Kotaku’s reporting failed some ethical or moral obligation to Yuzu or its community. This is just strikes me as trying to find a scapegoat.

Oh, this thread needs to stop. You clearly don’t understand how technology and code work. Just because they built a tool that could be used for Piracy doesn’t mean that was the purpose. And no, dumping games and keys from MY system is NOT piracy unless I start distributing those files (which I did not).

Show me the data. The whole idea that they don’t employ people searching for infringement sounds like an incredible amount of bullshit to me.

Oh give me a fucking break. People need to get over this whole, if you didn’t write about it then Nintendo wouldn’t have found it shit. You make it sound like Nintendo is a bunch of morons.

Kotaku never mentioned a fan-made Pokémon FPS and Nintendo’s lawyers found that with ease. They don’t need a gaming blog to write about something.

Now playing

yuzu and its team have always been against piracy. We started the projects in good faith, out of passion for Nintendo and its consoles and games, and were not intending to cause harm.”

Pretty sure the lawyers and internet scrubbers Nintendo pays millions for look at a lot more than mainstream (or even sub-mainstream) news sites to cover this shit. There’s a lot of things they know about that they don’t take action against for a variety of reasons, from bad optics to not knowing they’ll easily win.

I’d love if the sprites looked like Toriyama hand drew every frame.

Just do the same thing they did with SMRPG - improve the graphics, add gameplay/QoL improvements, re-record the music with a full orchestra, and maybe add a few little bonuses. I wouldn’t object to a full FF7R-style remake, as long as it’s one game and not artificially elongated over 6 years.

Odd that Nintendo went after Yuzu but not Ryujinx. Maybe because Yuzu put its latest builds behind Patreon paywalls?

It’s like they actively want us to pirate their games.

CA just raised fast food min wage to about $25.

It hurts. Zack is a terrible writer but this is more painful than usual.

Unless you’re ‘surge increasing’ your workers pay during those hours fuck right off.

Remember when people thought prices would go up because of employees getting a living wage?

I hate the future so much, this is the pits.

Weird choice to purposely kill your business, but this is why I’m not a CEO.

I rarely get fast food anymore ever since everything closed during the pandemic. If surge pricing is going to become an industry standard, I guess that trend will continue.

It’s less of a Rainbow Road and more of a Bi-way.
