The original versions should have never been delisted to begin with. They can spin it all they want via a press release apology, but at the end of the day, you expect more from a company that claims the series is special to both them and us. I hate being a cynic when it comes to this industry sometimes, but this was

you forgot cloud.

Don’t forget about how you'll disappear into the night the moment someone questions anything you say.

It’s the latest ponzi scheme.

NFTs provide us some sort of way to have ownership in the digital world...

You seemingly missed the last sentence that pretty much obviates the defense that you’re going for there.

you’ll want to sit down for this

I’m not the person you replied to, but as I see it, complaining about “the narrative” is almost universally used to mean “I can’t say you’re wrong about anything, but I don’t like the implications of those true facts”.

The utility (and value) of NFT’s will be created through social media platforms. For many digital representations is > physical representation and (if/when) Twitter/TikTok (discord backed away from it) roll out the ability to display flair on a social media profile that will be a turning point. We see how bananas

You’ve got it right - the transactions are explicitly and permanently public. The idea is that it’s hard to tie a wallet to a person - but there are lots of ways to do that accidentally since every transaction in and out of that wallet is also tracked.

In the early days of the internet, “actually having the file on your hard drive” was such a laborious, time-consuming task, that I held onto .jpg or .wav files like they were precious artifacts and would show them off to friends and lord them over them.

Here for the cryptobros getting pissy about how “we all don’t understand NFTs and how they’re going to bring us world peace”, or some such.

lol, the Twitter drama surrounding people right-clicking NFTs always nourishes me like a seven course meal. 🤣

Congratulations, they discovered the concept of copyright...but without the centuries of infrastructure to support and enforce them.

The funniest thing about NFTs to me is that “actually having the file on your hard drive” is a much more meaningful sense of ownership to me than “your name is in a ledger on the blockchain associated with a url that points to an image.”

wait, so you’re telling me EVERYONE will get to enjoy my previously exclusive procedurally generated monkey?!

It’s not a family friendly sports film without a literal street gang full of literal rapists and torturers cheering on the hero!

Wait what

Hey, he was in Space Jam 2, so why not?
